Educational Volunteer experience at local Nonprofit

An opportunity to learn about and contribute to this community

Your package includes an educational volunteer program with one of our local non-profit partners. This program is designed to give your family a deeper understanding of the place you’re visiting, by learning  about the state of local education, environment and economy through the lens of locally embedded nonprofit or community organization.  Most of our partner organizations work in general youth and family support, and are similar to organizations like the Boys and Girls club, which you might be familiar with from the U.S. These organizations are providing safe spaces for local youth to participate in afterschool programs such as homework help, English language learning, sports and healthy living.

Likely projects for your family would  include English language tutoring, painting and general maintenance of the educational facilities or whatever the immediate priority of our partner organization is.

We work hard to maintain strong relationships with our nonprofit partners. We ask that you approach this educational visit with respect, humility and good listening skills!

Your program fee includes the cost of staffing for your family’s educational volunteer program AND a small grant that goes directly to project sustainability.

Want more Awesome Activities? Here you go...

Add one of these unique local excursions. Your family is sure to grow closer together, as you challenge each other to embrace adventure and a new perspective.

  • Catamaran Sailing

This daily tour defines the “essence” of sailing and snorkeling with the dolphins in Bocas. Leaving at 9:30am, we raise the spinnaker and sail to Dolphin Bay where we will watch the Bottle Nose Dolphins mate, play and feed. From there we go snorkeling at Mangrove Reef, Isla San Cristobal, one of the most diverse reefs around Bocas Del Toro Panama for its abundance of sponge coral, brittle stars, sea anemones and sea urchins.

Mangroves are a breeding, feeding and nursery grounds for many estuarine and marine organisms. This reef is especially unique because it is very shallow and you can snorkel through the mangroves with schools of baby fish! From here we raise the sails and let the wind take us sailing to The Garden, Isla Solarte, where you will once again have the experience of snorkeling. In the meantime lay back, relax and enjoy the fresh baked sandwich made to your liking on the boat with drinks, cocktails and easy music. Dropping anchor in the sand “The Garden” is a perfect reef to explore. Large coral heads, schools of parrot fish, coupled angel fish and marine life of all kinds await your curious eyes. From here we raise the sails enjoy fresh fruit and sail back to the island, tranquilo style
